Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR or real time PCR) is a powerful technique that is commonly used to quantitate gene expression levels, identify SNPs, and determine copy number.

 qPCR is the technique of choice for these applications due to its accuracy, high sensitivity, throughput and cost effectiveness. Clients can specify their reporter of choice for detecting and quantitating the intended target using fluorescent probes or binding dyes.
