How CARE Works
The CARE (Comprehensive Assessment, Risk, and Education) platform integrates a suite of digital health tools to help healthcare providers identify high-risk patients for certain health conditions and/or who qualify for genetic testing. CARE offers built-in resources for patient education, genetic test ordering, results reporting, and connecting patients to genetic counseling. By embedding CARE within a clinic or health system’s existing workflows, healthcare teams and their patients are supported at every step.
In 2026, Ambry’s end-to-end program was awarded the “Best Overall Health Informatics Solution” in the 10th Annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards, a global program recognizing excellence in digital health and medical technology.
What CARE Includes
Clinical Tools Within CARE
The CARE Program uses a HIPAA-compliant application to collect and analyze patients’ medical information, genetic data, and family history prior to in-person visits. This information can be weighed against clinical practice guidelines to stratify patients by health risks and identify those who qualify for increased cancer screening and hereditary cancer testing. Patients have access to digital education resources and telehealth genetic counseling through CARE.
Ambry partners with healthcare providers and patients through the CARE Program™ to empower patients to learn about their risks as well as options to address them.
Cancer Risk
Understanding one’s risks for cancer is the first step to making a personalized cancer screening and risk reduction plan. Ambry partners with providers and patients through the CARE Program™ to empower patients to learn about their risks as well as options to address them.

CARE FAQs
What is the cost to patients for genetic testing ordered through CARE?
Through the CARE Program, eligible patients will receive genetic testing through Ambry. Due to our extensive contracts with commercial payers (covering 95% of insured lives), testing is affordable and accessible for the majority of patients. Historically, 4 out of 5 patients pay $0 for testing. fFor those who do pay, they pay on average less than $100. For additional questions on billing, please contact Ambry at +1 949-900-5500 or billing@ambrygen.com.
Which patients can get genetic testing through CARE?
A patient’s personal and family history of cancer will be evaluated through the CARE program to determine if they are eligible for genetic testing. The program uses National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) genetic testing criteria to assess family and personal history data. These criteria outline factors that may indicate a need for genetic testing, such as cancer type, age at time of diagnosis, and number of family members with cancer. Patients who meets these criteria will be offered genetic testing.
