What’s in a Number? Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Models and Clinical Applications

Breast cancer risk assessment models are used to estimate lifetime risk for breast cancer, as well as prior probabilities for carrying a pathogenic germline variant in a cancer susceptibility gene. The number and complexity of these models continues to grow, making it imperative that they be thoughtfully applied. This presentation will provide a practical overview of some of the more commonly used risk assessment models, their clinical utility, as well as limitations through case-based presentations.
