Double Helix, Double Standards: Recognizing Bias in Published Literature with Carrie Horton, MS, CGC

  • The scientific method is designed to help keep research observations objective, but bias (both conscious and unconscious) is an innate part of human nature. In this webinar, we will explore how scientific bias can arise throughout the research process—from study design to publication. Participants will gain insight into common types of bias as well as the limitations of journal quality metrics. Using real-world examples from published manuscripts, attendees will be equipped with the skills to critically assess research literature, recognize potential sources of bias, and evaluate the effectiveness of measures taken to mitigate these biases.
